Even though we are willing to help, there are many things you can do yourself to ensure you are driving a safe and reliable vehicle. Below please read about how easy it is to change your own oil, or to jumpstart a car with a dead battery.
How to change and inspect your oil:
Proper oil maintenance is vital to the longevity of your vehicle. In order to ensure reliability, you need to change your oil as recommended by your manufacturer. Some warning signs that an oil change is necessary are dark or dirty oil, your car stalling, difficulty starting the engine, and your warning lights going off. If you witness any of these signs it may be an indication that it is time for an oil change. The normal time span for oil is approximately six months. So you should expect to change your oil one or two times per year. Here is how to perform an oil change: 1) check what type of oil your car needs and how much is required. 2) Gather all your supplies (wrench and filter). 3) you should then locate the car’s oil filter and where the plug is for drainage. 4) Drain the oil and replace the oil filter. 5) Add the new oil. When you are done make sure to check the oil level. This will ensure that you put in the right amount of oil. How to jumpstart your car:
You wake up in the morning and are ready to head out to work. You try to start your car and boom… it’s dead. The best thing you can do to quickly remedy the problem is to jumpstart your car. Anyone with jumping cables can perform this task and here are some quick tips from your Auto Repair Tempe shop to ensure this process goes smoothly: Make sure you have the correct tools. You will need a set of jumper cables and another vehicle as a power source. Position the vehicles towards each other. Next, you open the hoods and find the batteries. Look to see where the positive and negative terminals are. Position the red clamp to the positive post on the dead battery and the other red clamp to the positive post of the good battery. Next, you position the black clamp to the negative post of the good battery and the other black clamp to an unpainted metal surface of the car. After all the clamps are in the position you will start the car with a good battery and then try to start the car with a bad battery. This should work like a charm.
Remember that next time you try to start your car you will probably encounter the same problem because this indicates that it is time for a new battery.
