How To Get Your Car Ready For A Road Trip In Phoenix Az?

Feb 04, 2022

If you are getting ready for a road trip you should make sure that apart from researching your desired destination and planning a picnic or a lunch out at a local restaurant, you should make sure that your vehicle is ready for the trip. At Bullitt Automotive, your Auto Mechanic Shop Phoenix AZ, we are here to help you out. We will make sure that you will safely make it to your destination and back without any unpleasant surprises. We’ve all been there before, the excitement is on, we are ready to go, and we are counting the days to our mini getaway only to find out that our vehicle had other plans for us. Has it ever happened that your battery went dead, you got a flat tire or your check engine light went on right before the trip? Well, it certainly happened to me more than once and to say that it was a disappointment is an understatement.

Our advice is simple: come visit us at Bullitt Automotive, your Auto Repair Phoenix AZ shop before you head out on your adventure. When you stop by, request a “Trip Check”. A “Trip Check” is a 30 minute inspection performed by one of our technicians. During this inspection, we will look at your tires, measure the tread, make sure that the tires are wearing evenly, and check your tire pressure. We will take a look at your brakes, suspension, check for any leaks, and make sure that all your fluid levels are right where they need to be. Although you can’t prevent every automotive malfunction, it certainly is a good idea to have a Car Mechanic Phoenix AZ shop evaluate your vehicle’s condition before heading out on the road.

Okay, your car is good and ready. Where shall we go?

Here Are Some Fun Places To Visit Near Phoenix Az

Are you looking for some travel ideas? Are you ready to get out of the city for the day? Let’s look at some fun destinations near Phoenix AZ that you can explore without having to spend money on accommodations. Yes, it’s fun to get away for longer, but sometimes a day trip is all you need and perhaps all you can afford. Luckily, we have so many wonderful places to explore right here in Arizona.

Tonto Natural Bridge State Park

One of my favorite day trips is to Tonto Natural Bridge State Park. It is a perfect destination to get away from the summer heat in Phoenix and is a short 1 hr 40 min drive from the city. The bridge is known for being the largest natural travertine bridge in the world. There is a nice shaded hiking trail that takes you to the bottom where you can view the bridge from underneath. After the hike, you can enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the picnic tables or drive over to Payson and dine at one of the town’s restaurants. While at the park you can check out the historic Goodfellow Lodge. It was built in the 1920’s and has 10 bedrooms each with a private bathroom. I believe that the Lodge can be rented out for events.

Devils Bridge

Devils’ Bridge is located in Sedona approximately 2 hour drive from Phoenix. It is Sedona’s largest natural sandstone arch. The view from here is Heavenly. Be aware that this is a very popular hiking destination and if you really want a picture on the bridge be prepared for a long wait. Sedona has so many fun restaurants to visit that I typically skip packing lunch and enjoy eating out. There are also wonderful shops and boutiques to explore. Another fun place to visit while in Sedona is Tlaquepaque which is an Arts and Crafts Village built in the 1970’s fashioned after a traditional Mexican Village.

Kartchner Caverns State Park

Kartchner Caverns are located south of Tucson around a 2 hr 20 min drive from Phoenix. The cave was discovered in 1974 by local cavers and has 2.4 miles of passages for your enjoyment. Inside you can view amazing speleothems that have been growing for 50000 years.

Flagstaff

Flagstaff is great any time of year. It is a perfect place to visit in the summer to escape the Phoenix heat. You can easily make it a day trip as it takes about 2.5 hours to get there. If you head out early in the morning you can hit a hiking trail, grab lunch downtown and be back home by evening. During the winter months, you can head up for some fun in the snow. There are a number of places you can sled or if you are a skier or a snowboarder then Snowbowl is the place for you. This ski resort offers a number of slopes from the easy bunny slope to the challenging double black diamond.
